Love this take but I think there’s a caveat. When it’s boots to the ground getting from point A to point B I don’t see my players RP much BUT when there’s a vessel (a cart/a boat/an airship) that makes a world of difference. I also think exploring is best when presented like a dungeon too.

I really like this point because often I find that an exuberant amount of art for TTRPG games can take away from the use of imagination - which is why I really loathe things like the new 5e VTT/AI Art/etc. TTRPGs are best when physical material and imagination are in harmony with one another.

as a kid I read a fantasy novel where the main character is transported into a dystopic future where there are ads playing in your apartment all the time (to subsidize your rent, I guess) and you can pay to turn them off and get a brief moment of peace. I think about that alot.
