It's frustrating to me because I like the genre of silly, sexy games with bikini armor and such, and yet I am able to comprehend that not every game has to be that. Some games opt for a more realistic style, _and that's okay._ Let devs express themselves!

The "all anti-Zionism is always and forever antisemitism" people and the "all antisemitism becomes fine if we just say it's anti-Zionism, even if we're ranting about the Talmud" people reinforce one another, even if both sides utterly fail to see it.

Significant numbers of leftists think Mayor Mamdani has betrayed the left by putting out an anti-antisemitism plan at all, and groups that claim to fight antisemitism like the ADL are giving Mamdani zero credit because he has not suddenly endorsed Zionism, and I am caught between and I am tired.

I remember the first time I read about a corruption scandal in EVE Online, in the early 2000s. It was the dawn of the MMO era, and already there was one with an economy sophisticated enough to have corruption scandals. I was, dryly, impressed. (cont'd) …

In general, it feels like the ticket to selling the broader public on a social program is to make it universal and don't ban private enterprise from competing "You can get this from the government free/inexpensively, though that's not the only way to get it" is what wins over swing voters

This is a very recognisable depiction of various political subcultures and we all know it. I am Pessimistic about our ability to persuade people not to do this, but I am also baffled by the fact that so many people in fact want to do this. Some sort of instinct to small-group meanness is common!

I know that Republicans are being massive hypocrites by constantly bringing up Hasan Piker, but you've got to find a way to cut that off at the knees. Say Hasan sucks in a way that communicates, "see how easy that was? Now it's your turn, condemn Elon Musk" (& the rest of the far-right hate brigade)

It sucks that Talarico is backpedaling on trans rights. It really does. But as a trans person I'm asking you, please do not let the guy who wants to do far worse win because of it. It's an awful calculation to have to make. Nobody wants to be in this situation. But, being a citizen of a democracy…

That doesn't mean you have to forgive him, it doesn't mean you have to say everything he says is fine, it doesn't mean you have to like him. And if he wins, you should absolutely push him to be better. But him winning is vital to stopping the right wing's anti-trans agenda. Even if he's bad.

In 1996, LGBT activists swallowed Wellstone's DOMA vote because they were looking four moves down the board. We need to do the same now. A Democratic senate won't confirm Trump's judges. That's fewer anti-trans jurists. That alone is reason to support Talarico in a Texas seat for six years.

I get that Talarico's comments yesterday were not great. But the thing is...we aren't debating between Talarico and a perfect candidate. We're debating between him and Paxton. And *even if* Talarico is completely anti-trans now (and I do not buy that for a second), he's better than Paxton.

Saying you won’t vote for Talarico, who has a very consistent record supporting trans rights, against Paxton, who is actively trying to harm trans people, is the same thing as saying “I am indifferent to what actually happens to trans people” It isn’t principled, virtuous, or logical

The fact that Talarico says "trans athletes" is significant. His statement is a bit wobbly, so I understand the concern, but it's a universe away from Amy Acton, who says "boys in girls' sports" (a straight-up lie & an example of the cardinal sin of politics: letting your opponents frame the issue).

R.I.P. Peter Cullen 😭 Behold the opening of the article on him on the Transformers Wiki. Pay special attention to the quote at the end. You will be missed, friend.
Peter Cullen (July 28, 1941–August 26, 2026) was a Canadian actor and voice actor, who earned fame, respect, and admiration as the voice of the original Optimus Prime, as well as that character's analogs from many subsequent series listed below. His tenure as the character earned him the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on December 17, 2023.[1][2] Originally from Quebec, Cullen moved to the U.S. early in his career.

In programming that aired adjacent to Transformers, Cullen provided the voice for Challenge of the GoBots characters Pincher, Spoiler, Tank and Block Head; for G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero characters Airborne, Zandar and Nemesis Enforcer; and from the Visionaries, Cindarr. Some of Cullen's other roles include Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, Monterey Jack from Chip 'N Dale - Rescue Rangers, Venger from Dungeons & Dragons, K.A.R.R. from Knight Rider, Bankjob Beagle and Admiral Grimitz on Ducktales, Mysterio, Hulk and Red Skull on Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Coran and King Alfor on Voltron, Thaedus from Invincible, King Kong in the 1976 remake film and the titular villain of Predator. He was also the announcer for several commercials for the United States Navy in 2007, filling in for Keith David.

“Peter, if you're going to be a hero, be a real hero. Be strong enough to be gentle.”

—Peter quoting the advice his late brother, Larry, had on inspiring the voice of Optimus Prime.

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.
A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Tactics Ogre Reborn. I would've finished it if it did not have a fatal flaw: you can only rename characters when you recruit them, never after. This put an intense amount of pressure on me to pick a perfect name every time I recruited a character. I spent more time picking names than I did playing 😫

Just watched Pretty Woman (because it's leaving Netflix and, as probably the most mainstream portrayal of a sex worker in movies, I should probably have seen it by now). I don't know, it was kind of sweet. I know it's a big male fantasy of "rescuing" a sex worker, but hey, he's nice, doesn't look…
