The acceleration of whatever form of capitalism we are presently in is unstable across industry and it shows. Everybody is in crisis. Nobody is sure what's next because the system itself doesn't have much interest in the needs or aspirations of human beings beyond our tendency to consume.

I used to work at a t-shirt kiosk at the Maine Mall. We sold shirts that read shit like — I kid you not — "I'd rather be masturbating" and employees would switch off on music selections (same as any kitchen). I'd play NOFX, Justin would play the Dead, and Aaron would play Mr. Bungle.

Late Night With the Devil was fine. The unsung star of the movie is the possessed girl. A masterclass in how to be creepy without being like "I'm very creepy, aren't I?" The "scary" stuff was very cool, but so much of the logic didn't work for me. I liked a lot about it but not the whole of it.
