I emerge from the grave to ask peeps that have seen FF14 in the wild at conventions outside for FanFest, is this true? Is SE only showing off one of the blandest dungeons to potential new players? I have to know. 👀 I say this as an unironic, casual Snowcloak enjoyer, pre-Trust changes.

Farewell to costume designer Bob Mackie, a designer of spectacular gowns for great divas, but also the creator of perhaps the greatest costume sight gag in history.

I don't want to be nostalgic anymore. I'm tired of being catered to. I don't want to forever hear the same artistic voices I heard in my youth, now amplified, slowed and reverbed for dramatic effect. I want new worlds. I want new stories. I want new voices. Please!

I actually think about this constantly. If you’re part of a conglomerate and list out partners such as Disney, the US military, etc it’s actually embarrassing to be understaffed, disorganized, and treat people who you ask to work for you this way all while charging $200 for the price of entry.

After the chat on the show, and all the things this week, I realize that I might be done with fan conventions. I've changed. They've changed. They're not a place for me anymore, and that's okay. Lamenting the loss while honoring my time, wallet, and mental/physical health.

Most absurd moment in Avengers: Doomsday trailer: Thor sees Captain America and says “It’s not possible!” I mean, come on, there’s nothing MORE possible in a franchise than a character coming back from the dead. Believe me, I’m in the upcoming MST3K reboot, so I know what I am talking about!

Also the sad reminder that most millennials can't afford a place that will allow them to paint the walls. Older landlords have control over the colors.🙃 It's not us. It's never been us.

TifaIA @tifaia.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

I know of no millennial that actually likes this grey. We want color. Other generations dictated this color for us, and that's on par with how we've been treated our entire lives. Raise us up with a box full of dreams, and hand us a used tissue of millennial grey.

In all the excitement for this weekends game announcements, don’t forget about all the devs that have been laid off in the last few years. Imagine how much better games could be if people weren’t tossed aside for profit & corporate greed. We may never know how it could have been.

Fun fact! Steam has done this Showcase of Showcases page at least 3 years running, and annual events are usually (with some exceptions) made as unique pages Meaning: grab that URL, change the year to 2024 or 2025 to find your way to older show catalogues too - whose featured games may be out now!

More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕

A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)

So, this arrived in the mail and I was not expecting the "feels" when I unwrapped it. I have little ME: A things around the booth, but I don't really look at them. This was the first time in a while I'd really *seen* a thing. It reminded me of an exciting time working with amazing people.

THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Final Fantasy became so focused on chasing trends that were outdated by the time the game's release, and they keep doing it. 🙃 Let the developers drive the ship and go all in on their weird ideas, instead of following an out-of-touch corporate mandates.

in case you've never seen it, this is Roger Ebert on The Mummy

There is within me an unslaked hunger for preposterous adventure movies. I resist the bad ones, but when a "Congo" or an
"Anaconda" comes along, my heart leaps up and I cave in. "The Mummy" is a movie like that. There is hardly a thing I can say in its favor, except that I was cheered by nearly every minute of it. I cannot argue for the script, the direction, the acting or even the mummy, but I can say that I was not bored and sometimes I was unreasonably pleased. There is a little immaturity stuck away in the crannies of even the most judicious of us, and we should treasure it.
