Fascinating insight into how the ideological centre of gravity has moved lately. By any standard definition, Meloni is a far right politician, yet here she's effectively presented as the leader of a sister party to Badenoch's Conservatives. Which party (leader) that says more about is a moot point.
One question for Farage: What he makes of an intervention by Italy’s Giorgia Meloni. The Italian PM advised Kemi Badenoch not to do a deal with Reform, telling her Tory pal on a visit to Rome: “Be your own woman and stand your ground,” according to the Times.

A familiar tale: Meloni, like Farage, is also facing a big challenge from the further right, in the form of a former army general. It’s well worth reading Steven Swinford’s story for the full readout of the hour-long chiacchierata in a Roman coffee shop on Monday. Tory Chair Kevin Hollinrake’s on the morning round, so may have a few more thoughts on questions of a pact.
