Donkey Kong 64 contains unused text that would have referenced the Gold Skulltula sidequest from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as a joke explanation for Donkey Kong not being able to do something.

Donkey Kong 64 contains an unused line of text for the seal in Gloomy Galleon where he tells Donkey Kong that he needs "100 Skulltilleys" to race him. This was intended to be used in the game's demo as a joke explanation for why the race cannot be accessed.
This is of course a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, where Gold Skulltulas can be found all over Hyrule. Defeating them produces tokens, 100 of which are needed to lift the curse on a family in Kakariko Village which turned them into spiders.
The spelling "Skulltilleys" instead of "Skulltulas" appears to be an inside reference to the name of Rareware artist Carl Tilley, who worked on this game.

Here's the thing people don't seem to understand: yes, we can do restorative justice and rehabilitation and reparations over punishment...those things take TIME though. And the first step of that is leaving the public eye. Its a pretty big injustice to have done and to not have told others about.

people keep getting this wrong. a softlock is if a game is technically continuing to function, but it is in a state where it is impossible to progress (e.g. idaho). if it's entered a state where core functions don't work anymore and you can't reset out (e.g. florida) that's a hardlock.
