it isn't the most ideal way to go about it CAFE regulations need to be reformed not removed but it could help with building smaller vehicles because that's what people look for in vehicles.

it probably will, but also most people purchasing a vehicle are looking for fuel mileage and with cafe regulations it was mileage based on weight. So manufacturers would initially kill off smaller vehicles because it was cheaper to make the vehicle heavy and have worse gas mileage.

ya know this Du Nord thing is making it a lot harder for convention goers from out of state to get from the airport to downtown. Many opting for Ubers instead of Transit.

Furry Migration this weekend at the Hyatt Regency!! Without transit on Nicollet Mall people flying in for hotels would have to walk from Marquette or have to deal with the mixed traffic on Hennepin with their luggage.

There just needs to be a dedicated (as in 24/7) continuous bus-only lane on Hennepin (and 1st Ave NE) between Uptown Transit Station and University/4th St SE. It’s like the E Line is successful in spite of really baffling and maddening decisions.

On 8/1/26, the Winona Police Department discovered that all eight of our city's Flock cameras were missing. That evening, an officer noted that there'd been no recent activity on the cameras. Officers subsequently checked the various locations where the Flock cameras were placed and found that the poles were cut down near the base. Officers located the poles nearby in the weeds, but the cameras had been removed. As of 8/4/26, the cameras have not been located.
The stolen cameras were stationed in the following areas:
Two near Hwy 61/Bundy Blvd
Two near Hwy 61/Hwy 14
Two near Hwy 14/Knopp Valley Dr
Two near Hwy 43/Homer Rd
The timeframe of the thefts appears to be between July 29th and August 1st.
The cost to replace each camera and pole is approximately $3,000.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Anyone with information related to the thefts can contact the Winona Police Department at 507-457-6302 or by calling Winona Area Crimestoppers at 507-457-6530. You can also submit a tip online through https://winonaare acrimestoppers.com.
