It was a great day to join volunteers for this year’s ‘Show Up, Seattle’ day of service. Hundreds of volunteers gathered at Be’er Sheva Park in Rainier Beach, Donnie Chin International Children’s Park and many other places around the city.

Katie Wilson is in Beacon Hill this afternoon announcing a brand new executive order targeting changes dealing with traffic safety across city government. The five-section order is beefy, and I think it represents the biggest reaffirmation of Vision Zero in Seattle since the initial 2015 commitment.

So we can all agree we'll walk really slowly in the middle of the street when this happens. You can also just stand still and chat over coffee in the middle of the street, car horns are just ambience, you can ignore them.

US downtowns were built for in-person work. WFH is killing US downtowns. We either have to reuse these buildings for housing or end WFH.

Landlord, Michael E Heijer accidentally CCed the entire Seattle city council, asking fellow landlords to testify against rental junk fee banning. Said renters who testified in favor of banning junk fees were the “unemployed left trying to stick it to the man.” Still think this isn’t a class war?

I wrote a similar one and sent it, but didn't cc anyone as I am not sure how they treat that.
I met with Lake Union Partners yesterday and they had a group of developers speaking in front of the Seattle City Council complaining about this item. They were a handful of people who spoke against it, and then the unemployed left of course had a whole bunch of people trying to "stick it to the man" as they want other people pay for their living accommodations.
Very sad.
So, Jack, Nevin et al please keep writing more emails to them so they know that we don't like this at all and keep some pressure on them

Seattle is rolling out a first‑of‑its‑kind policy to make grocery prices fair for everyone. This policy stops big retailers from using your personal data to price gouge you while protecting customer discounts and coupons. @cmdionnefoster @councilmember.amr
