I don’t mind it, but I thought that living in St. Louis and being a reverse commuter meant I wouldn’t be in rush-hour crowds on roads/public transit, but in a rust belt city with an abundance of cheap pre-war housing and decades of downtown neglect, reverse commuting is closer to the norm it seems.

Observations from the Festival of Nations in St. Louis; There was a noticeable uptick in ai slop menus and ads this year, but many of the booths with obviously ai signage were amongst the quietest at this food festival attended by 100,000+.

Our region and infrastructure is already fairly resilient. We’re used to hot summers, just not this hot. Homes have AC, our rails and roads aren’t buckling, and the power grid isn’t on the verge of collapse like I fear it will be when this type of deadly heat hits the northeast or northwest.
