The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

The “Debate Me Bro” Grift: How Trolls Weaponized The Marketplace Of Ideas
Among the attempts to create hagiographic eulogies of Charlie Kirk, I’ve seen more than a few people suggest that Kirk should be respected for being willing to talk to “those who disagree with him” as a sign that he was engaging in good faith. Perhaps the perfect example of this is Ezra Klein’s silly eulogy claiming that Kirk was “

BREAKING: President Trump just fired our nation's Librarian. My statement here:
President Trump fired our nation’s Librarian, Dr. Carla Hayden, by email at 6:56pm tonight, taking his assault on America’s libraries to a new level.

Over the course of her tenure, Dr. Hayden brought the Library of Congress to the people, with initiatives that reached into rural communities and made the Library accessible to all Americans, in person and online.

While President Trump wants to ban books and tell Americans what to read – or not to read at all, Dr. Hayden has devoted her career to making reading and the pursuit of knowledge available to everyone.

Be like Dr. Hayden.

Awesome news! Let’s give it up for Ohio—every single library levy on Tuesday’s ballot passed, some by blowout margins. While GOP extremists try to slash $91M in library funding, voters showed up to say loud and clear: we believe in books, not bans. 📚 More here: tinyurl.com/OH-libraries

RFK Jr. wants everyone to be infected with vaccine-preventable disease. He thinks it’s no big deal if your infant or your mom undergoing through chemo dies from a VPD. He thinks that if you die from a VPD, you are weak or you don’t “eat right” or you don’t exercise. He thinks you deserve it.

Resistance to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 came from some states insisting that captured fugitives be granted due process before rendition. The Slave Power DID NOT like that. In Virginia, Lincoln's suggestion that fugitives be granted due process convinced its leadership to just up and secede.

I just posted this on Facebook because while super online people see what's going on, normies don't. I just re-read it and it sounds unhinged. But it's what's happening. And even I can't believe it, even if we're seeing it.
Early this morning Wired reported that, contrary to published reports, Elon Musk and his operatives at the Treasury Department are not limited to “read only” access to department payment systems. Rather, a 25-year-old member of Musk's illegal task force named Marko Elez has assumed control of admin privileges over these critical systems. These systems directly control and pay out roughly 95% of payments made by the U.S. government, including Social Security checks, tax refunds and virtually all contract payments.
Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo further reports that not only does Musk have full access to these systems, he has already made extensive changes to the code base, over which only he likely has access and control. These changes were not tested or vetted in a development environment. They were plugged in live, on the fly, and now exist in such a way that the changes may be difficult to detect, let alone undo.
Which means that the coup I've been talking about over the past several days is no longer merely in process, is no longer theoretical, and is no longer hypothetical. Elon Musk now has the power, and no doubt the intention, to unilaterally stop the United States government from paying contractually obligated debts. He now has the power to begin using federal funds as a means of enriching himself and those he and Donald Trump favor while punishing political enemies, perceived or otherwise. Regardless of his intentions, chaos has been sowed.
As I'm writing this on Tuesday afternoon a large group of protesters led by Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost has arrived at the Treasury Department but have been barred from accessing the building. The crowd is growing in size and it is unclear how, or if, the situation will be resolved.
Reports now have Musk and his team moving next to the Department of Labor and Department of Energy.
