I haven’t seen the final roll call but Klobuchar & Smith both voted for cloture. (The roll call vote was v close to the cloture vote.) I‘m not for restraining labor’s right to make a living outside of collective bargaining so I’d have voted no.

Many people who were critical of MPD cost overruns were denounced as alarmist or anti-police. Now MPD has admitted to the abuse of overtime hours. I am grateful current leadership is cracking down but deeply frustrated by this betrayal of the public trust and the time it took to get answers.

I was skeptical going into this article and reading it did not assuage my concerns. Anecdotes everywhere, with an estimated effect of 500 statewide because we have half the students of Illinois and they have 1,000 students who use it. Bad extrapolation, and extremely minimal impact even if true.
