Apart from Title IX, this is blatantly in violation of any reasonable equal protection standard. A Tobacco industry-level class action suit would be more than warranted. Big name universities have ample endowments to pay damages. Maybe that would get some traction.

I wanted to share something that happened to my 76-year-old mom in Texas yesterday because I immediately thought of you and the reach of your mic.
My mom, Margaret, has been a voter since she was 18 and has always voted. She went to a voter-registration event in Bexar County and, when they suggested she check her registration, her record couldn’t be found. She immediately filled out a new registration application.
Then she checked her husbands, and his record couldn’t be found either.
Regardless of why any individual registration has an issue, this feels like an important public-service message: Texans should check their voter registration now, while there’s still time to fix a problem, not discover it when they go to vote.
