You cannot "reform" something built to abduct, assault, terrorize, traffic & kill. You can only abolish it. And that goes both for ICE & the MAGA Murder Regime that has unleashed its full occupation & assault on us.

I invite you to notice that the Times is yet again targeting individual, named members of the public, a thing they’ve been doing at least since they were naming and “exposing” individual black students who wanted to move a statue or change the English lit reading list ten years ago.

Excl: Pro-Palestinian activists ran an organised campaign inside the Green Party to recruit members, secure influential party positions and reshape its policies from within, The Times can reveal.

He claimed it was "naked entryism that is corrupting the party beyond recognition".
Another longstanding party member said there was "clear evidence" of "a highly organised campaign by a small number of infiltrators to take over the party's key votes and committees".

Lack of cooling in many homes is a big risk here in the Bay Area as well as heat waves get worse. With electrification, there's an opportunity to replace old heat-only systems with heat pumps that can heat and cool.

In 2017 I interviewed a soldier who took part in the SAS night raids in Afghanistan. In 2024| gave evidence to the public inquiry into allegations of Extra Judicial Killings. While I believe those EJKs took place it is essential to understand the strategic context. My book Blades asks the fundamental question 'what would you have done?' Because at the time UK govt support for Counter Terrorism operations was non-existent. The human rights of the Taliban were prioritised over the lives of British soldiers. SAS soldiers faced an impossible dilemma. The bombmakers and facilitators operated outside UK ROE and were recycled back onto the battlefield within 96hrs of capture. Yet the IED networks represented the enemy's most potent threat. Many hundreds of British soldiers and Afghan civilians were being blown up. I am proud that my newspaper the Mail has had the courage to set out these arguments. This is bold journalism. The SAS are not a rogue unit and its soldiers acted rationally and professionally in impossible

There are absolutely exceptional Dems running, and they merit praise, but we do the truth and ourselves a disservice to say "Blue Wave" as it implies voters' actions are motivated by embracing Democrats. It's a "Red Wipeout" or "Republican Repudiation." (H/t Michael Podhorzer.)

Leuven might be the best cycling city you’ve never heard of. 37% of trips are by bike; not by accident, but by years of rethinking streets, reducing car dominance and recirculating traffic. While the large capitals attract most headlines, Leuven is another example of a small city making big moves.

This is exactly why I don't trust an incremental approach to Medicare For All. You've got to create the coalition & the environment to do it & then just do it. They will bleed you to death if you try to be "reasonable".

The pardon is a visible instance but I'd suggest the conditions that made it possible are the security state & the permanent war that started with Truman, McCarthy, Korea. A President that can unilaterally end the world is bound to get ideas. Our secret knowledge justifies us, always.

I’m thinking about the time that the SF Chronicle rejected our op-ed defending e-bikes b/c they insisted on us providing data that doesn’t exist, & when we told them this they referred to a counter op-ed, which we had to inform them was using faulty/fabricated data. But they still insisted.
