I have acquired a journal that has a lovely tooled leather cover that I love. Sadly it's full of paper that absolutely HATES fountain pens. So now I guess I need to find something to do with the leather after I extract the paper from it.

There's a lot of talk about Pride flags today. I fall into the category of whatever flag suits you, you should fly, but I find it a bit sad that the Progressive Pride flag came to be because Pride itself had been co-opted so hard by cis white queerdom that the inclusion wasn't automatic.

Noting here that the therapeutic index of prescription stimulants is about 1/4-1/3 the quantity for recreational use (i.e. a prescription dose usually maxes around 60mg/day, while the average recreational dose starts around 200mg) while that’s not true for opiates, so DEA talking out their ass again

So so so much of the panic around trans kids is centered in the fact that parents struggle with recognizing their kid has an interior life. It denies trans kids the closet and autonomy, and positions "reality" as "things are only real when I am made aware of them" which is fundamentally selfish.

The hill I will die on is that this is not a digital problem. We don't send younger kids out to play by themselves anymore for fear of kidnapping/CPS, and those kids become teens who don't do it either. There's also a loss of third spaces for teens. Even the freaking malls require chaperones.
