anyone who thinks Hobbes is the authoritarian guy par excellence should ask themselves why Bishop Bramhall would denounce Leviathan as the "rebel's catechism"

the sentence "for Hallyu to become a passion rather than a marginal trend, young fans need to free themselves from the clutches of both the American and Japanese pop culture canons" should not be in a sociology article

destroying Greek life would be useful for stemming an entire mode of social reproduction which, as I must remind everyone, was born of the confederate south. Greek life prides itself on keeping the tradition of rape alive in more than one form. Sometimes literal.

Mathematicians studied knots under "knot theory" for about a quarter of a millenium, but never analysed what kinds of knots humans have actually tied. In this paper we applied knot theory to study human-made knots spanning over ten millennia. Turns out some of our everyday knots are very old.

When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.
