Which is wild, because the answer is, "Do you live in a society?" "Do you use roads? Expect the firefighters to show up if something catches on fire? Want 'those damn kids' to have afterschool programs instead of running loose on your lawn? Want there to be doctors when you need them?"

We're aware of a phishing attack that has compromised more than 4,500 accounts. The attack spread through posts promoting a fake offer of a government payment. We have temporarily suspended the compromised accounts and are working with their owners to secure them and restore access.

Exactly. Like I understand the average person doesn't get that great a ROI on taxes, but at the very least if you don't want to pay then you don't want to ever use any roads or get anything you didn't grow/mine/build on your property. Or have any expectation of competency from anyone for anything.

Someone needing an abortion is not bad. It is morally neutral. Like someone needing a wisdom tooth extraction. Abortions themselves, like wisdom tooth extractions, are morally good because they allow women to care for their health and control what happens to their bodies.

I think a lot of men fail to realize just how many of them who don’t or didn’t want children at one point in their lives were spared having to upend their lives by a woman who got one and kept it quiet

Scaramucci lasted from July 21st to July 31st. A total of 10 whole days with one incomplete. Zacharia lasted from October 12th to October 16th. 4 whole days and one incomplete. Don't mix up the day calcuations. It's either 4/10 or 5/11. Don't say it's 5 vs 10.

I worked briefly at a place that made enamel pins, owned by a married couple. The man worked onsite and the woman at home. The man would constantly call his wife a bitch and say she was useless and stupid. I left at lunch on my first day, never called just didn’t go back.

Merriam Webster out here fighting for its life
Merriam-Webster & @Merriam..•18h
'Goodbye' is an alteration of "God be with you."

Sean Kress• @SKress7514 • 16h
Do you have evidence to back this up? If so can you explain what "good night" , "good
morning" and "good evening" are alterations of?

Merriam-Webster & @Merriam..•15h
whatSean Kress & @SKress7514 • 14h
I was genuinely asking the question because the only thing I find on the internet is that it is basically a slur from the original.... I assumed there was a better explanation for it than that as it seems a little unlikely given the good night, good morning etc haven't been slurred into something else too. Sorry if you saw that as offensive.

Merriam-Webster @ @Merriam...•14h S
It is not related to 'good night/ day/morning.'
The 'good' in those do not come from 'God.'Sean Kress @ @SKress7514 • 14h
So the internet suggestion this it is just a slur is what you are basing that on too then?

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Merriam-Webster's etymology follows established linguistic scholarship, not unverified internet suggestions of a "slur."
"Goodbye" is an alteration of "God be with you"; "good" in greetings like "good morning" has separate origins unrelated to "God."

I temped at Purolator for a week during the summer when I was 16. I busted my ass for less money than the steel-toe boots I wore cost me upfront and collapsed in the back of a truck from dehydration and was asked not to come back.

What was wrong with Spotlight that Siri AI had to replace it? Like even if you concede they had to make Siri AI to respond to market forces, why did they have to make spotlight *so much slower* rather than leaving it as is?
