More clickbait for the hard-of-thinking, bigoted-old-git market! John O'Connell, TPA chief executive, said: "Ministers need to make work pay and reduce barriers to entry for young people wanting to enter the workplace." Which costs money that the TPA doesn't want spent. archive.is/3DKiA#select...

Suella Braverman selling 106 copies of her book after all that publicity is so delicious.
Crack 'em while you can, though, because Suella's star might just be on the skids. Despite plugging her book on Question Time, on Tim Shipman's Spectator podcast, in serialised excerpts in the Daily Mail, and in a fawning interview with Allison Pearson in the Telegraph, in its opening weekend, Patriot sold precisely 106 copies.

Here's a thing you won't hear on UK media, fanning itself at the idea of a far right gov't in France: “With the exception of de Gaulle in 1965, no one who was ahead the year before a presidential election, went on to win it. This doesn't mean it can't happen, of course, but it's worth remembering.”

The BBC is cutting every Reithian-like production to pay for the likes of podcasts on the Spice Girls by Strictly alumni and Daily Mail-lite website lifestyle crap. Axe the BBC's public service aspect and it's impossible to justify its public funding if it's just going to churn out celebrity fluff.

Former Labour Deputy Leader Lord Thomas Watson, now Senior VP at Palantir UK, wrote to me defending their public contracts. Instead of trading letters, I’ve challenged him to an open, public debate. He can defend Palantir’s ethos; I’ll argue for public accountability. Will you accept, Tom?
Formal letter from Clive Lewis MP, Member of Parliament for Norwich South, to Lord Thomas Watson of Wyre Forest, Senior Vice President of Palantir Technologies UK Limited, dated 7 October 2026. In the letter, Lewis challenges Watson to a public debate regarding Palantir's role in government contracts and public institutions. Lewis rejects Watson's claim that criticisms malign software engineers, stressing that elected officials must scrutinize corporate power, democratic control, and public accountability. He proposes a debate with an impartial chair, equal time, and audience questions.

I'm in my mid 60s and must say that between May 1, 1997 and September 11, 2001 was as good as it got politically. (Not that I felt this then; Blair was obsessed with being re-elected and could have overseen radical changes!) Everything else since 1979 has been eroding our rights/quality of life.
