We’ve got the inside story of how Trump’s displeasure with seeing homeless people in D.C. became the first domino in a series of actions that culminated in the administration’s stunning decision to weaken the rights of millions of disabled Americans to live in their homes and communities.

How Trump’s homelessness crackdown became a sweeping retreat from disability rights
After issuing a memo making it easier to institutionalize homeless people, the Justice Department began abandoning cases protecting disabled people’s right to live in the community.

Hebrew punctuation precedes Zionism as a political movement by about a 800 years. It was not in any way integral to "spoken Hebrew" and the unity between Jews across the world was never "artificial". It's just wrong on so many levels.

The fact that this idiocy got past an editor in a book on godamn punctuation shows how deep the ignorance of Judaism and Jewish history is in the wider culture and how that ignorance is being weaponized so as to create a better scapegoat for Western uses

There simply is no such thing as a candidate the too-cool-for-democrats crowd won’t scream is morally unacceptable. It’s pointless to do what they say they want; they’ll never acknowledge it. The only thing to do is ignore them and press on.

In the vein of AI making everything better 🙄 today google discontinued their google assistant that we used to verbally add things to a grocery list. Instead you now have to use Gemini which cannot complete the same task. Anyone have a good android list app that allows you to add things by speaking?
I hear your frustration. Google transitioned from Google Assistant to Gemini to provide a more capable, conversational Al partner that can handle complex tasks, reasoning, and context across Google apps.

However, Gemini is still evolving, and certain simple assistant features (like specific smart home integrations or list management quirks) are still being refined.

This will be one of the most important immigration cases in a generation. The Trump admin claims that a 1996 law mandates the detention of millions of people without any right to a bond hearing; every person who entered illegally, no matter how long in the past. If they win, it's a nightmare.

Tommy Vietor and Emma Vigeland disagree on whether campaigning with Liz Cheney was a big mistake

Tommy: There's nothing wrong with doing 1 or 2 events with her to see if you can pull back some moderate Republicans

Emma: I disagree. It's underdiscussed how the name Cheney associated Kamala Harris with an already existing weakness—the warmongering

[They conclude by discussing why it is good for Democrats to not run away from tough conversations]
