Minor Threat is, in my opinion, the best punk band of the early 80s, but Group Sex is maybe the best punk rock album of that era. Violent, fast, funny, furious at those in power, and musically amazing, the album has everything you want from punk rock.

This NC police crime lab analyst faked DNA tests. In response, law enforcement “investigated” for 2 1/2 years before charging her with a misdemeanor (false report to police). But the statute of limitations on misdemeanors in N.C. is two years, so the case is almost certainly going to be dismissed.

Was watching a suppression hearing and one of the lawyers asked for 2 min bathroom break. Judge said no. Interrupting a hearing to ask to go to the bathroom is embarrassing and prob means the lawyer’s dying to go. Another example of the thousand banal cruelties that can be inflicted from the bench.

Just finished reading this and loved it. Absolutely beautiful language, and a story that is fantastical and complex but reads fast like an adventure novel. Vividly depicts the horrors of trench warfare and handles a religious theme in a way that I - a non-spiritual person - found compelling.
