People sometimes advocate for minimal/no UI to not overload new users. No-HUD and minimalist UI is typically a feature existing/experienced users benefit from. New users often need more UI not less. Care does still need to be taken so that it is clear and shows value. #gamedev #ux

ADHD gremlins demand novelty so I’m giving watercolor a shot. I’ve never actually tried watercolor before in any meaningful way, so I have no idea what the hell I’m doing. I’m just working off some tutorials with a bit of riffing here and there. Any tutorial recommendations are welcome!

Hey. So. Turns out the jets in whirlpool tubs in hotel rooms don’t just blow air out. They blow water. 7 FIREHOSE sprays—angled upwards. I didn’t know this and turned them on just a bit too early. It was like a Jackass prank. Bottom of Splash Mountain level sprays from all sides right at my face.

my belief is that at the end of the day, great games are made by groups of people who have high trust with each other & can fluidly execute a shared vision. which is a small part of why these layoffs are so devastating- it's not just about jobs, it's about these "trust structures" being torn apart.

It’s a little absurd that there isn’t a physical media release of the M*A*S*H tv series that uses the HD scans of the negatives AND gives you the option to turn off the laugh track. Anyways… still one of my favorite shows of all time. Even if I have to watch it in 480p to avoid the canned laughs 😭
