I’m at Runyon Canyon above the Oscars and there’s a light plane towing a banner flying over everything, not only is he getting very close to the blimp and the two helicopters, but isn’t that restricted airspace how is he allowed to even be there?

If you haven't already seen it, Rebecca Solnit's "The Loneliness of Donald Trump" is the purest withering poison, a joy and a monster.
I have described my view of the dual esthetics of technology as "the scalpel and the sledgehammer", the elegant solution to a single problem and the throw-cubic-inches-at-it-until-it-gives blunt force approach. Sometimes a thing is both (the SR-71 Blackbird comes to mind) and it leaps to the fore as an object of beauty, to be cherished, remembered, and occasionally feared.
Ms. Solnit's piece satisfies both these esthetics. Her scalpel dances so cleanly, so completely over the subject that you almost don't realize that each cut lands with the force of a sledgehammer, pulverizing as it slices.
She takes Trump down to his diseased, corrupt core, and turns that core into ashen pebbles.
One of you will say, has already said, "But what good does it do? He is still president." I'm not sure I have an answer for that. He is still president. But as the piece states:
"...he has stepped off a cliff, pronounced himself king of the air, and is in freetall. Another dungheap awaits his landing; the dung is all his; when he plunges into it he will be, at last, a self-made man."

The fences are down on the West Ridge Trail at Runyon! Yay! The little Survivor tree is doing well! The trail from Wattles Garden Park to the south peak of West Ridge is still closed but I’m not sure how much a laminated piece of paper is going to keep people off of it.
