All of this. I also want to add that, in my research, I found that a lot of “inconsistencies” in a victim’s story actually came from gender bias affecting investigators’ record keeping and interview methods.

But it’s also true that these systems are just misogynistic. And we’re so busy holding victims to an impossibly high standard that we forget to ask the most basic questions about whether people like police did their jobs effectively.

it is My Assessment that the University learned last year that the people of Minnesota do not particularly care about the University as a whole, and have decided to run with that in making these cuts. I think blaming the state for a lack of funding is taking the U's leadership at their word.

If you’re a Minnesotan, please email your legislators and candidates and ask them what they want the U to do less well. What they’re willing to sacrifice. If the answer is nothing, then we have to rethink this endless death spiral where we do less with less forever.

I understand and share the impulse to blame university administrators. I have written plenty about them. But right now I’d like us to turn the focus to Minnesota politicians and Minnesota voters and ask what functions of the university do you want to see cut? What don’t you care about Amy Klobuchar?

I recommend people read this to get a sense of the president's grave cognitive impairment. Trump is either unwilling or unable (or maybe both) to answer the questions he's actually asked, so he just rants and raves while the interviewers do their best to provide structure to his random brain firings

This is a good list. The #1 biggest problem in Title IX is that there is no oversight and massive conflicts of interest. Schools can (and do) prioritize the institution over survivors, even when it requires breaking the law. Independent investigations would change that.
