Pretty sure this chap's not having "a comfortable experience when in the Tapestry itself". Maybe he should ask the British Museum for a refund.

I saw this sign posted on Tumblr and thought "is that a chainsaw, or is it in fact an extremely hardcore duck?"
A photo of a sign that indicates "no chainsaws allowed", made from a stylized image of a chainsaw surrounded by a red circle with a diagonal line through it. The photo was taken by the person who runs the qualitysigns.tumblr.com blog in Doncaster, UK, in 2025. A picture of a duck by me. The duck's head is shaped like the chainsaw from the sign in the previous image and the rest of the duck is spiky and studded to match. The caption says "chainsaw duck".

Went to see Avengers Endgame Encore at my local cinema and saw the (brief) new bits at the end and got excited by the prospect of Avengers Doomsday. Then came home and read about the new bits and learned that one was missing from my screening because only big flash cinemas show all 4? What a swizz.

The chaotic keycutters near the station (rogue boots and batteries in grey plastic tubs) now has a name. I love it. It sounds like something from Borges and thus gives validation to the disorder and entropy of the shop, allowing it to exist within the unreliable ontology of a Borgesian short story.
The key cutters on Station Road is now called The Old Pharosian Cobbler. I am willing to believe that this is an Egyptian reference as opposed to the proprietor being an old boy of Dover Grammar School.

King’s Cross tube station is adorned with Trek-themed advertising this week to celebrate Star Trek’s 60th anniversary (which is today!). Nice, but not quite as groovy as when Piccadilly tube station changed all its signage to say “Picardilly” to promote Star Trek: Picard in January 2020.
