David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Shout-out to Robert in Fopp Covent Garden. Popped in today, bought Jagged Edge on Blu-ray, and Robert on the tills chatted for 10 mins about shlock 1980s' thrillers. Proper customer service. You don't get that on the Amazon checkout page. 190
David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I can't believe we're now essentially running the same stories regarding Jack Lowden's unsuitability to play James Bond as were run when it was Daniel Craig in contention. 030
David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 23/09/2026One of the nice things about working at Radio Times is that readers still send you letters through the post - and sometimes (as in this case) they're even complimentary. 0110
David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 22/09/2026All it takes is for autumn to arrive for us to see how relevant scheduled TV still is. Monday-night quizzes, Bake Off on a Tuesday, the finale of the landmark 70 Up, plus the twice-weekly treat of Celebrity Traitors just around the corner. 130

David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Why have I only just gotten around to watching Starve Acre? Very much my cup of tea, if tea were brewed with a sprig of pagan dread and a generous helping of rural unease. Anyway, it's now on iPlayer. #StarveAcre 040
David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Some snippets of Stephanie Cole I've dug out of the Radio Times archive - interviews she gave for Talking Heads and Waiting for God. #StephanieCole 0165

David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I love these ads I get for Debenhams - as if this dude has ever worn a Dr McCoy T-shirt. Not even I would wear a Dr McCoy T-shirt. I do have a Dr McCoy bookmark though. That's as ostentatious as I get. 262

David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 15/09/2026It's amazing to think that, at one point, ITV wasn't progressing with the Up series and gave it to the BBC. I think it was Peter Fincham who brought it back to ITV when he arrived there. #70Up 193
David Brown @davidebrown.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Symon has got it cracked, really. Despite those regrets about his own upbringing, he's made things a little better for those who see him as a parental figure. Best you can hope for. #70Up 0100
