I know I say this a lot about a wide variety of songs but Amazed by Lonestar might just be the worst record ever made #totp

Ricky Wilde so cool in that performance, pounding away at the keyboard

I love The Second Time and when I saw Kim Wilde a few years back it got a great reception, seems that it got a bit forgotten about for a while but it's enjoyed a bit of a renaissance in recent years #totp

Was pleased to see Bentley Rhythm Ace on #totp as they were the first band I ever saw live, at The Que Club in Birmingham in 1997

NO. DO NOT DO THIS. Do NOT think about The Event and under NO circumstances attempt to relive The Event. This may cause DISTRESS and CONFUSION. REMAIN INDOORS.
A double decker London bus with a poster on the side of it, saying “Relive the Event”. The poster is advertising Disney+ and the event in question is the Oasis reunion tour.

Happy memories of P**rs M*rg*n on Twitter trying to sound controversial by referring to "the Eurovision (Crap) Song Contest"

Noel said once that the main reason he got the Swap Shop job was that on Z Shed the light above him failed and he got up and sat under a working one, and after the show they all gave him congratulations for having the wit to do that on air, and that established him as someone who could do live TV

I won't actually be watching that one tonight actually, but I'll be thinking about it. That episode will go down really well on here I'm sure

The One Show is always really good at their full-length obit shows. So great to have a half hour live programme in the schedule that can react to things like this properly.

To get you excited for Swap Shop's 50th anniversary tomorrow, here's an edition which ended with Noel covering the corpse of John Craven with a shroud.

Aarh, PRESENTING. He was preventing it a year or so later by talking so much he was almost still on air when it started

Evans preventing the Evening Session was a great moment, he was really embracing the station. Course, a year later he spent most of his show slagging the rest of the station off

One of The Cardigans' biggest champions on national radio was Chris Evans, and very early on in his breakfast show stint he guest presented the Evening Session and was raving about them

Just to say, I know I'm the last person on the planet to have seen this, but I did enjoy the Day Today reunion in the first episode of the latest series of Ludwig with Rebecca Front and Doon MacKichan playing sisters

A year before I knew nothing about a third series of Bottom being made before I opened up that week's Radio Times and it was starting on BBC2, so in those days even if you were a big telly obsessive stuff would pass you by

Steve Williams @skillagesteve.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
I dunno, maybe he had got wind of something, I do remember Morris saying in the Radio Times when he was promoting his Radio 1 show that after the series was over they were going to start thinking about The Day Today again, so maybe it was considered at some point

This reminds me of my first job l, on a youth lifestyle website that like all of them at the time had a lifespan of a mayfly, as one of my colleagues interviewed her and she had such a strong Yorkshire accent they could barely understand her

I think at least some of that was thanks to someone on the DigitalSpy Strictly forum pretending they were in the know and just making it up, and everyone else blithely repeating that, up to and including the papers

I remember him talking about the Hollywood Wives disaster where they managed to lose a reel, saying he explained on air what happened in the bit they missed, but he had in fact just made it up

This is the day of the first Monday 'stEnders in 1994, hence ITV showing Bond as a spoiler but it being slightly too long for the slot. Remember my mum being baffled as to why Corrie was on early

One day I'm going to be watching a TV crime drama and a mock-up newspaper will appear with a headline that actually fits the space on the fucking page. Friends, thanks to the otherwise perfectly acceptable Moonflower Murders, today is not that day

The 20th anniversary doc was really fun, and there is a lovely collection of Lee's favourite episodes on iPlayer including this one which is a wonderfully intricately plotted farce that David Renwick would be proud of www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Not Going Out - Series 12: 2. Text
When Lee accidentally sends a rude text to Anna that was intended for Lucy, he upsets both of them.

Looking forward to the first outing of my favourite bit, when everyone boos Craig for giving a low score and then Motsi gives them the same, a noise that translates as "hmm, maybe it wasn't that good, then"

The "pop news" on that 1980 #totp was a thriller, the story about Alan Minter's walk on music being released as a single must be the most tenuous piece of "pop news" ever reported

I have a vivid memory of the episode Pip Schofield appeared on, because the announcer introduced it over the globe so as to suggest he was on his way to see Scragtag and not spoil the illusion it was live
