People might bring up Vincent van Gogh as an example of a painter who did great work in spite of, or because of, his suffering. I like to think that van Gogh would have been even more prolific and even greater if he wasn't so restricted by the things tormenting him. I’ve been taking an intro to ballet class for the past five weeks, and it’s been so challenging, but it’s also been so fun! At 36, I’ve found a safe place to try something so out of my comfort zone, and I’ve silenced that voice in my head that told me for years I couldn’t do this bc I’m a size 18.
