this is preposterous. Ralph Wiggum is a strange child. The idea that he would create a Viking-tier of achievement is entirely reasonable, especially since he seems not to be a Viking anywhere else.

To me it's so obviously that Ralph has dreams in which he is a Viking -- this feels so much more clear-cut than something like "you'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel" -- but apparently there's even dissention among the writers about what it's supposed to mean.

Prior to this ep, Ralph had jokes about seeing Snagglepuss and eating paste. He’s a simple boy who likes to flatly announces what he likes/sees, and at his season 7 level of intelligence, Raph wouldn’t know what a metaphor is to say that being “a Viking” means you are very good at doing something

“Viking=Good at Sleep” was a wild interpretation to me when I 1st heard others describe that meaning, but I’ve learned to treat these people with respect. But I’ve NEVER wavered from “When Ralph dreams, he sees himself as a Viking.” And this is what the episode’s showrunner David Mirkin has said too
