Turns out we don’t have to invoke weapons of mass destruction when talking about ocean heat uptake. The ocean absorbed a record-breaking 23 zettajoules of heat last year, equivalent to 40 times the energy used by humanity. It’s not going to end well.

Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.

I decided last night that the colours in the version of the chart that I shared yesterday were a bit shit, so I redid them this morning.
Chart comparing emissions from Australia's fossil fuel exports with the country's net territorial emissions while in 2005, emissions from the two were roughly the same at around 650 million tonnes per year.

In 2026, emissions from exports are well more than double emissions at home.
