www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... I’ll be astounded if City get anywhere near the harshest punishment. This isn’t just about Manchester or a football club cooking the books, it’s about state investment in UKPLC. Feels as if there’ll be huge pressure on the PL from the government.

Andy Burnham 'really concerned' if Man City owners sell up after rule breaches
The prime minister compares the allegations against Man City to the plight of his own club Everton.

How the f- is any of this normal? Labour can choose to undo this immediately. Deproscribe Palestine Action. It was a disastrous decision by the Starmer admin and Burnham can undo it.

The unmasking of Manchester City is as shocking and earthshaking as everyone says it is. But I feel we are forgetting that this is football. So it is also very, very funny.

My mum is doing wonders with my dad and wouldn’t want him to end his days in a home. But we’re the exception in that regard. She’s been in healthcare all her career and we’re only a heartbeat away from having to fund dad’s last months in a care home.

The rush to speculate that asylum seekers are responsible for every crime in the news is a sort of opportunistic informational terrorism. Until it’s disproved it stokes fear and hatred. When it is disproved there are no adverse consequences and they know that they only have to be lucky once.

Absolutely. Britain. A small island which has always relied on immigration. Most of us are descendants of immigrants and were content with each other before Brexit and Trump normalised racism. Greedy liars and ignorant racists are the problem.

The Times - which has v much joined in the rightwing clamour to reduce immigration - now reporting that Mahmood’s “success” has cost the economy £4- to £7Bn. Would they like to now honestly confirm that fewer people = less spending power for all. There’s a high price to pay for this nasty obsession.
Patrick Maguire
Chief Political Commentator Oliver Wright Policy Editor

Falling migration numbers could cost the chancellor as much as £7bn in fiscal headroom as he writes his first budget, The Times has been told.
Government insiders believe that John Healey, who already faced an uphill battle to balance the books next month, is likely to have an even bigger challenge after immigration undershot projections from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
The Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank estimated last month that the success of Shabana
Mahmood's
reforms, which have cut net migration to the low hundreds of thousands, could cost Healey some £4bn.

Condemnation is pure hot air if in the next breath you’re telling everyone you’re doing your best to give the fascists what they want, just without the masks
In fact, these are scenes we have not seen on British streets. Immigration needs to be deal with, I will be the first to say that and we are dealing with it. The boat crossings have been halved since six years ago, net migration is down massively.

More than £1bn spent on new players since charges first made. Everton case dealt with within a year. Stinky situation that has taken so long that many key figures have since moved on. If all charges upheld what then as far as more serious authorities are concerned?

Maybe a bit early to discuss the process whatever the outcome may be here. But Man City investigation started in 2018. The club was charged more than 3 years ago. In that time, the team has continued unmolested, recruiting at incredible fees, winning at great frequency. The PL still can’t comment.
