Do you know what, I am tired and irritated by the lack of care so many people seem to have for fellow human beings. Arguing about it here isn't going to help, so avoiding here until I have something more positive to contribute. Fuck people who support removing support for struggling groups though.

The state shouldn't be allowed to murder people. And now, what, they've poisoned a woman twice and are now obliged to try to keep her alive because they couldn't kill her? The whole thing is insane.

I have so many 'Andy Burnham jangled his keys and I'm fascinated!' people muted, that I do not, in fact, see the key-jangling excitement until you lot post a screenshot. In many ways it's validating, even though I'd rather not see it lest I wade in.

The current care system is a farce. It destroys people financially, mentally, and physically. It desperately needs dismantling and reassembling in a way that works for people and isn't a complete lottery when it comes to cost. Burnham saying he'll put it into the next GE manifesto isn't good enough.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

Same happens here. The council are bound by certain laws and rules which prevent them from acting quickly. For example some empty houses here get infested with mice/rats/bugs & the council only become aware when someone reports it. They are then obliged to find & contact the owner & give them notice

I have to fill out a massive bunch of forms that I've already filled out once, because even if I facilitate getting them the forms I've already filled in, they have no way to put that in their system.
