I think it's ill-advised and anti-democratic to introduce an omnibus bill, cite a crisis, and rush major changes to labour and environmental law. It's going to provoke aggressive resistance and risks, ironically, slowing down the projects the government is so keen on. It's going to be a huge mess.

Ottawa Police have already been using police databases to stalk random women they see in public Now Toronto Police are (allegedly) using police databases to help drug traffickers interested in assassinating prison officials and intimidating witnesses to murders www.thestar.com/news/gta/stu...
Toronto Const. Timothy Barnhardt was unaware a recording device had been hidden inside his police cruiser as he invited an alleged drug dealer into the passenger seat. Barnhardt showed the man the computer screen attached to the centre console, where the veteran officer could search confidential databases containing people's home addresses. Police allege that Barnhardt had been feeding the information gleaned from the searches to criminals, who used it to conduct shootings, robberies and other violent acts. Inside the cruiser on that September 2025 day, the man handed Barnhardt multiple $100 bills, which the officer tucked into the front pocket of his police vest.

Sometimes the WAR ON WALKING results in no sidewalks at all. Sometimes they put “something” in — but does that really make things walkable for anyone except those without any other choices? The #WARonWALKING takes many forms, but it’s always about making things comfortable for vehicles, not people.
Image of a wide concrete overpass with a huge truck travelling dangerously close to a thin, uncomfortable looking concrete “sidewalk.” The text says “Don’t buy the lie that there’s a war on cars. They’ve been waging a war on walking for a century.” Tagline at the bottom says the Urban Truth Collective. #UrbanTruth #WarOnCars

"On behalf of myself, Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and 999,998 other Ottawa residents, I'd like to thank the National Capital Commission for making Ottawa such a great city," LeBrun wrote earlier this month in response to a "Good morning Ottawa / Bonjour Ottawa" photo taken at Remic Rapids Park and featuring intricately balanced rocks at the Kichi Zìbì Mikan multi-use pathway.
The pathway is one of Sutcliffe's favourite photographic subjects, likely part of his near-daily running routine, one that also often appears to include the Chief William Commanda Bridge.
