Soft Rains Day. "Today is August 4, 2026, in the city of Allendale, California. Today is Mr. Featherstone's birthday. Today is the anniversary of Tilita's marriage. Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas, and light bills." RIP Ray Bradbury, 1920-2012
There Will Come Soft Rains
By: Ray Bradbury

In the living room the voice-clock sang, Tick-tock, seven o'clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven o 'clock! as if it were afraid that nobody would. The morning house lay empty. The clock ticked on, repeating and repeating its sounds into the emptiness. Seven-nine, breakfast time, seven-nine!
In the kitchen the breakfast stove gave a hissing sigh and ejected from its warm interior eight pieces of perfectly browned toast, eight eggs sunny side up, sixteen slices of bacon, two coffees, and two
cool glasses of milk.
"Today is August 4, 2026," said a second voice from the kitchen ceiling, "in the city of Allendale, California." It repeated the date three times for memory's sake.
"Today is Mr. Featherstone's birthday. Today is the anniversary of Tilita's marriage. Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas, and light bills."

A rainbow is a portion of a circle centered on the point directly opposite the sun. This circle always has an angular radius of 42 degrees: that's how raindrops work. A full moon is directly opposite the sun. So if the moon is in a rainbow, it's close to 42° degrees away from being full. (2/2)
Refraction and reflection in a raindrop, producing a rainbow. White light separates into different colours (wavelengths) on entering the raindrop, as red light is refracted by a lesser angle than blue light. It reflects against the back of the raindrop and gets refracted again as it leave the front. On leaving the raindrop, the red rays have turned through a smaller angle than the blue rays, producing a rainbow. However, all the reflected light comes out at angle of roughly 42 degrees from the line at which it came in. From https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rainbow1.svg

Mark Ham wowed the world with this picture. But then someone wowed me even more by pointing out that the moon always has the same phase when it's in a rainbow! (1/2)
A closeup of a rainbow with the Moon in it. The Moon is not full, it is gibbous. This photo was taken by Mark Ham. In this photo you can work out exactly where the sun is—behind him over his left shoulder—from both the position of the rainbow and from the phase of the moon.

My statement on the end of the old InfoWars, and the imminent beginning of a much better one.
“Good riddance to the world’s worst rubbish,” The Onion’s CEO, Ben Collins, wrote in a text to MS NOW. “The second this man is disallowed from abusing these courts, from paying out the $1.4 billion he owes to these families, we are ready to take over with something that will make you forget about what was ever there before. We have a deal with both the Sandy Hook families and the court-appointed receiver, and we look forward to taking over this hellhole imminently.”

“War is over, if you want it,” Collins said, quoting Yoko Ono and John Lennon.
