Like typically in action you have the protag save a LI or someone they become close with from sexual violence and/or abuse, the victim in this context exists to make our hero look like a "good man" I wanted to toss that away, so I continually have Reilyn stand up to people who hurt him himself

It was more than that, I also wanted to write about an abuse survivor standing up to his abuser and learning to live with the grief he feels for lost loved ones But in large part I was subverting things from action stories to make the kind that I personally wanted to see in the world

A big part of the modus operandi behind this book is that I wanted an action story ft a gay man as the lead, and I liked the idea of him being slender and pretty as opposed to being a bog standard beefcake (no offense to beefcakes, I enjoy them too!)

Non-NSFW snippet, but the story it's from is going to be NSFW (specifically, how do you deal with a currently not-particularly-mobile sub who's deliberately provoking you because he's bored of being stuck on bed-rest? Turns out Archer has some ideas)

On the one hand, Archer supposed, the fact that Sabbat was bored was, in fact, a source of deep and abiding relief, inasmuch as he was feeling well enough to *be* bored.

On the other, it was also a source of deep and abiding frustration, inasmuch as how he was choosing to express that fact was by spending entirely too much time and effort deliberately and unrepentantly irritating Archer.

The other notable thing is the number of ebay descriptions that attempt to explain the thing they're selling from first principles, as though they're filling an essay word-count. I promise you, if I'm trying to buy wheelchair spare parts, I kinda by definition know what a wheelchair *is*.

'Has all wheels'? Yes. 'Has rear wheels and castors'? Yes. Even 'has all four wheels' I'd take. But 'featuring' as though it's a new and exciting innovation rather than the standard pattern for the thing in question? Nope. (Could also be bad translation and/or copy/paste, admittedly)

I'm becoming more and more convinced that people are using LLMs to write their ebay descriptions and then not checking them before they post. Mostly because 'Featuring four wheels' is not something that most people would put in the description of a wheelchair, and I've now seen it multiple times.

The stickiest dragon, soft-scaled in ripe lovebird colours (green, yellow, coral). Found in one-in-a-million mangos, the bigger ones, sometimes identified by the fruit's heat, even out of direct sun. They don't take to domestication but it sunbasks on the patio while I read poetry. #TinyTalesTuesday
