Check out these two story teasers from authors @emlinden.bsky.social and @andrewbelindo.bsky.social featuring a woman who isn't about to let death get in her way, and someone trapped in a time loop who keeps meeting death every 50 years.

When I am stranded in the lands of Death, two things give me hope. The first is that my baby daughter Linna isn’t here; the second is that my grandmother, somewhere, is. Grandma Orta died months ago, slumped over her old green notebook, but when she was alive she knew more than anyone about everything and she probably still does. And Linna must have survived whatever shattering thing stranded me in this place, or she’d be here with me now. I will drag my battered, breathing body out of Death and back to Linna, and my grandmother will help me.

You're still falling, no longer the gentle drifting of consciousness, the sweet lulling of sleep, but more the sensation of falling off a building in a dream that lingers with you even after you jolt back awake. The year is wrong. It should say 2050. But maybe you misheard.

Long, narrow wings and a forked tail. It lies in the dust, thrown into the road when the pram skidded. Protecting the asphalt from misfortune.
On the back, our name is scratched in the calligraphy of our language. Orchard or garden. Something with roots; something that can grow.
