That is NOT why this camp is closing. Please stop spreading this ridiculous story. HIV in youth is low, which IS great. But there was 1 week per year for housing insecure kids and 4 weeks per year for LGBTQ kids. There just isn’t enough $ to support a camp that mostly served queer kids.

The VA spent ~$165B in 2024 on disability benefits for ~6.7M veterans. With a deficit of ~$1.8T in 2024, cutting the entire program would get us about 9% towards solvency. Seems like a bad trade to me.
