As a wheelchair user, my understanding is that you do have priority. In Edinburgh folk are asked to vacate the space and fold the buggy up. This from Edinburgh's Lothian #buses: #accessibility support.lothianbuses.com/hc/en-gb/art...

Lip service paid to pedestrians yet again, many of whom are reliant on access to public transport. Not convinced cycling should be prioritised above public transport, given that pedestrians and public transport are interdependent. #accessibility www.transport.gov.scot/active-trave...

Sustainable transport pyramid with pedestrians at the top and private cars at the bottom. Cycling is below pedestrians and above public transport. Taxis are below public transport. Pedestrian level fails to include an adult pushing a pram or buggy.

In the guise of granny with baby in a buggy regularly traversing Buckstone to Oxgangs on bin day, I have to agree. Edinburgh's suburban pavements are in a shocking state and pedestrians are bottom of council / government priorities. @drscottarthurmp.bsky.social #accessibility #Edinburgh
