Not saying this is good policy, but its a cheaper price in exchange for the risk of getting cut off if the gas is needed elsewhere. Kinda like how my monthly train ticket is cheaper than booking each trip, but if there’s a match on and the train is booked out I can’t get on (rare but it happens).

My first mentor in software development mentioned he once had a program literally frozen - because the stack was left outside in the winter and he had to wait for it to thaw before it would feed correctly. He wished he'd kept them - apparently CMU logo punch cards are worth something now.

I’ve never thought to check the logs for this! Have you ever tried an interactive oral? Last term I had a class for software design, gave them a group assignment to model some program they made in another course At the end they had to onboard a new team member (me via Soom) and talk me through it

It is pretty simple. If you are a professor you have power and influence over any student. Some of it you are aware of (or should be) and some of it may not be apparent. Because of this, it is wrong to date a student, even if they are willing or think there’s no coercion.
