I'm no fan of Burnham particularly because of the way he plotted to oust Starmer. I want him to succeed but I'd feel slightly better towards him if he acknowledged the work done by Starmer and his cabinet, particularly Reeves. He hasn't just won a GE and put in 2 years of hard graft they did.

Labour membership fell to 264,754 in 2025, down 68,481 (−20.6%) from 2024's 333,235, according to the party's accounts out today. Labour still had hefty total income of £45 million, but donations were down 84% on 2024 - to roughly £6.5m (£39.4m in 2024). Membership income fell to £15.3 from £18.3m.

I liked Keir Starmer because he was steady, and didn’t say things to create soundbites. I liked how he talked about government being a service to the electorate. He often explained decisions, and most of them had a plan behind them. Words are easy, actions are harder and more complicated.
