I think it’s time for some decent men and women to stick their heads above the parapet and claim the leadership of their parties. Right now the current crop are awful. All of them. No exceptions. None are leaders. None have integrity. None are worth following.

I see the Americans are moaning at just over $5 a gallon for petrol. Do they know ours is well over $10 a gallon. And we never even voted for Trump.

The wealthy want lower taxes for them. And lower welfare for you. The low taxes results in a smaller State, picking up things like NHS, welfare, PIP, your Council, education, minimum wage The things they can afford to pay for privately, but you can’t.

When you read about the level of corruption in our country (City, Post Office, PPE, MPs expenses scandal, Greensill, Honours for cash). You can’t help but realise how closely involved many PM/MPs are. No wonder we, ordinary people, have so little faith.

I was disappointed in Starmer over the suits and glasses. But I always felt it was blown out of all proportion. It was worthy of slapped wrists and he definitely should have known better. Done better. Feels trivial now watching Burnham. Yet interestingly not much on front pages

Change the name State Pension. To : Pension Benefit. This misconception is ridiculous and so many recipients do not understand. That’s the responsibility of governments. Correct it.

Freedom of Movement to allow EU citizens to work, rest and play in Britain. Filling jobs, paying taxes, learning English. Bringing their charm and warmth to Britain. Giving us diversity and different cultures. It’ll be so good to have them back again.

Everything that’s actually being done at the moment are Starmer’s policies. Burnham claims them but Starmer put them there. Perhaps you just weren’t paying attention. 70% of the manifesto enacted in 2 yrs of a 10 year plan. Now we have another 10 yr plan that won’t start for 3 years. Yeah. Great. 🙄

We will need to recruit an ‘army’ of beautiful souls to provide the care in homes. Not press gang a load of disgruntled school leavers to take on the role rather than be on welfare. Or maybe look at taking people from other countries????

All the alternatives are worse. But I don’t want the best of a bad bunch. I want someone who is delivering for us all. Whoever we are. I don’t want ‘nice words’. But I agree they’re better than ‘racist words’.

Burnham should address the "singles tax" hitting pensioners & younger single people. Right now, widowed or single pensioners are forced to cover the same household bills on a single retirement income that couples split between two. Could be life-changing lifeline to millions.

Would the triple lock be a discussion point if we had never left the EU? Or if tax loopholes had been plugged? Or if Mone & all these people like Richard Tice paid their damned taxes like I always have? I suspect not. Why not deal with that? If it’s not enough then look at us

I shall be listening to Burnham’s speech tomorrow. In the hope there may be something he actually can do in the next three years. I don’t want to wait until 2029/30 to see any progress. Especially when Keir managed nearly 70% of his manifesto in just two years.

No one in their right mind could begrudge a safe route to the women/girls forced to live under Taliban rule. I genuinely hope we can take many. I would provide a roof for one or two as an interim step. Nigel Farage stoops so low but what do we expect from him?

Didn’t Burnham sabotage the Assisted Dying Bill because he thinks Palliative Care must be improved? So it’s not just social care that needs fixing. Are we expecting anything on this? I’m 70. It all matters. And I have no options now. Thanks Andy!

Labour is still a Party that more closely represents my views than any of the alternatives. I like the new ‘Help to Buy’ idea. I like the caveats around it. To me it’s sound in principle. I hope it works for our young people.

Imagine being Andy Burnham. Shot to the top where he always wanted to be but could never get there by his own legitimate means. Too afraid to seek his own mandate. Manacled by a superior PM’s glory and mandate. I’d think ‘it’s a cruel god that gives you what you want’.

The ONS productivity error did not just distort spreadsheets; it directly changed the material reality of the UK. By painting the country as poorer and less efficient than it actually was, the error triggered a series of self-fulfilling economic wounds. Why the media silence???

I don’t read a lot about wars. Wherever they are. I can’t seem to cope with real knowledge of death and destruction caused by mankind. It doesn’t leave me. However one thing I have gleaned from Ukraine is that really want to go there. Unlike any other war zone once it’s over.

I remember years ago going to see U2. Bono spent a long while ranting on about his Politics. I’d paid a lot of money to hear him sing. Now going to a concert is £100-£200 depending on who. And i still feel the same. Music is my escape from politics.

We are all fed up with filthy rich people slagging off our country aren’t we? Be it Ratcliffe or Dyson or someone else, we all know their wealth was generated by being in stable Britain with our people working for them. Then they scarper and pay no tax. I’d really like an exit tax on them all.

What annoys me is the waste of bloody time. We’ve gained nothing in Burnham’s first two months. We’ve lost years of progress with the EU. Labour has lost all credibility. So who is happy??? That’s when you know what it was all for.

They’re having to double down on their support for Andy Burnham. Watching these MPs who’ve messed up defending their actions because what’s the alternative now. Global Recession looming and a poorly equipped PM. It bodes terribly. But there’s still no choice. Truth not an option
