Schweizer only won by a total of 269 votes in 2024 so I'd be surprised if it didn't flip

Savoy is getting very blue very fast. This was one of the only districts in the country to flip from voting Trump 2020 to Harris 2024

So with the NY poll last night I decided to do a quick analysis of the Bay Area, looking at every municipality over 5k population in DRA Pretty clear trend: the wealthier the municipality, the worst Prop 50 did relative to Harris. Atherton swung nearly 14 points right!
Scatterplot comparing the swing in Bay Area municipalities from the 2024 Presidential Election to Prop. 50 vs. median household income

Seriously, d trip and HMP need to fucking get on it.
Sometimes I'm going about my day, driving or whatever, and I'm suddenly like "there is a Republican candidate (Brandon Herrera) who is the most disgusting sick evil perverse vile groyper imaginable, and yet our local airwaves aren't saturated with anti-Herrera ads. His opponent doesn't have much money and is finally going up with an ad, but I'm just like, what the fuck are you DOING, outside money??? If democrats had a candidate in a competitive seat anywhere near as bad, we would literally never hear the end of it across the country.

May be already on your radar, but Fort Bend County Judge (Texas). There's been a lot of recent drama after the previous judge, who was originally elected as a Democrat but flipped to the Republicans, was convicted for money laundering. Republican nominee Daniel Wong was appointed to the position

Very funny that McKee getting annihilated in RI Gov was so clear from the polling that “first incumbent governor defeated in a primary since 2018” is basically a nonstory

How did NH Dems not find anyone better than Cinde Warmington to run for governor

Ryan @ryan62.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Yeah the durability of Dem gains in the TX suburbs have been way underestimated. If you told TX Rs in 2014 they’d outright win the Hispanic vote in a decade, they’d expect to be winning by 20+, not underperforming Romney’s margin

Tarrant County, TX Judge! Very large swing county home to Fort Worth. Dem candidate Alisa Simmons was gerrymandered out of her seat in the County Commissioners Court and she’s running against an R incumbent who, in his previous time as a mayor, wasted millions trying to keep Mexicans out of his city

No idea how much I’ll do for this but I wrote something in preparation for the midterms! This one is about Tarrant County, TX: the massive swing county that kicked off the gerrymandering wars and is currently run by a guy who wasted millions of dollars to try and keep Mexicans out of his city

Ken Paxton spokesperson endorses privatizing Social Security
retweet by Paxton spokesperson Madison Cercy: In 2001 George W Bush proposed a partial privatization plan for Social Security so you could put 10% of your SS contribution into the markets.

People rejected this.

We can now see that if it had passed, the 10% that went into the markets would have outperformed the 90% the government managed, the program would be solvent, and the average SS recipient would be receiving 2X what they currently receive.

The worst bet you’ll ever make is betting on government.

The thing that is happening is not that the explosion of growth in the southwest has strained water supplies, it's that a steady rate of water irrigation for cash crop agriculture has met a steady decline in Colorado River flows due to climate change. Human settlement basically doesn't matter!

A fun and surprising fact is that there is actually plenty of water for human habitation in the southwest! In fact, Phoenix peaked in water use in the 1970s even though its population has exploded, because converting farmland to housing or industrial uses SAVES tons of water bsky.app/profile/jdba...

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

Briefly looking away from Wisconsin: what an absolute humiliation in CT-01. He won't lose as bad as Goldman did in NY-10 but that's because Lander was Goldman's only opponent, Larson is currently getting a lower voteshare than Goldman did
The Democratic primary for Connecticut's First Congressional district, incumbent John Larson trails with only 32.7% of the vote to challenger Luke Bronin's 54.4%.
