This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

Idiocy from Badenoch on inheritance tax. We need people to be spending money, not hoarding it. There are too many people living in houses totally inappropriate for them in old age...sometimes asset rich cash poor and claiming pension credit. We should incentivise downsizing. Absolutely hopeless.

Its weird, politics isnt it? Lab conf was about giving hope to working classes. Conservatives shaping up to support policies that they hope will appeal to middle classes eg £100k childcare cap removal. AfAIK its not 1966. Lab is the party of graduates and professionals. Tory = blue collar support.

it probably is electoral suicide...just like Theresa May's "dementia tax". All of these things are necessary. but the British public cant understand that. They want Scandinavian style public services with American style taxes...and we have enough populists on left and right telling them that's ok.

Pensions need to be the subject of a national conversation. DB schemes generosity creating apartheid type system. You could reduce DB contribs and still far better than DC. Use some savings to give pay rises to public sector. 28.57% employer contrib (i.e taxpayer) on civil service pensions.

Govt will have to put out illustrations showing how price of care far exceeds triple lock ratchet. Worryingly an articulate but still ignorant guest on GMB not recognising this. She is on an (admittedly reduced) NHS penaion too! Id love to know how many pensioners retire on purely state pension.

On the triple lock. The courageous and correct thing to do. Will be bloody hard to get consensus. Rich pensioner: why should i give up triple lock, as extra £ pays for meals out etc? Poor pensioner: why should i give up some pension so a rich pensioner can have free care?
