That's a Rhode Island record. In Boston, this didn't match the April Fools' Day blizzard of 1997, let alone 1978. I was flying back from London in 1997. The pilot "pulled some favors" and took off early, landing at 1:50, before they closed the airport at 2:00 (scheduled arrival 2:30).

I find it really incredible that the concept of “vote blue no matter who” is so hard for some to grasp. It doesn’t mean “all Democrats are good.” It means “vote for the Democrat against the Republican.” In their November races, Fetterman, Masto, Platner, Booker, Newsom are the correct choices

DFL Party Statement on Trump and Bondi's Attempt to Extort Our State Voter Rolls

"Donald Trump and Pam Bondi are demanding access to Minnesotans’ voter rolls in exchange for relieving us from the federal siege we are under," said DFL Party Chair Richard Carlbom.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene on Twitter. It’s 2026 and one of the few Republicans who seem capable of acknowledging that 2+2=4 is the person who was first politicized by Qanon.
I support American's 1st and 4th amendment rights.
There is nothing wrong with legally peacefully protesting and videoing.
MAGA, consider it like this.
We lost our minds when we watched Biden's FBI track down and aggressively carry out home invasions and arrest on peaceful J6'ers who walked in the Capitol through open doors.
Imaging if one of our MAGA independent journalists or even just a MAGA supporter stood in the street outside a J6'ers house while Biden's
FBI carried out a law enforcement operation, home invasion, and arrest.
Then Biden's FBI goes to the MAGA guy videoing it all and shoves a woman with him to the ground and sprays them with bear spray then throws the
MAGA guy to the ground as MAGA guy was trying to help the woman off the ground. Then Biden's FBI beats MAGA guy on the ground, disarms MAGA guy, and then shoots him dead.
What would have been our reaction?

All this talk of the 25th Amendment is great, but I repeat: it was never designed to deal with a senile or malicious President who wouldn't go quietly. If Trump pushes back, it takes a 2/3 vote of both houses of Congress to oust him. Impeachment is a lower bar. (And yes, we should do that.)

One possible frame for this running debate is that, for the repliers' world to come about, a variety of other institutions would have to fail, amounting to total constitutional collapse. Is that possible? Yes, more than many of us realized. Is it here? No, and it's less likely than it was 6 mo. ago.

Let’s talk about abolishing ICE. Very few people who say “abolish ICE” mean “abandon all immigration enforcement.” Rather, they mean “the structure of immigration enforcement is irretrievably broken and needs to be reorganized, just like we did 23 years ago when we created ICE.” /1

I'm all for giving people different transport options and making cycling and transit into good ones, but I am always entertained by anti-car advocates who simply refuse to believe that people drive because it's fast and convenient, or think the world would be better if they made it so it never were.

Justice Jackson to Solicitor General Sauer (just now, in Trump v. Slaughter arguments):
"I guess I have a very different view of the dangers and real-world consequences of your position than what you explored with Justice Kavanaugh. My understanding was that independent agencies exist because Congress has decided that some issues, some matters, some areas should be handled in this way by nonpartisan experts—that Congress is saying that expertise matters with respect to aspects of the economy and transportation and the various independent agencies that we have.

"So having a president come in and fire all the scientists and the doctors and the economists and the PhDs and replacing them with loyalists and people who don't know anything is actually not in the best interest of the citizens of the United States."

I have every expectation we'll have an economic crash at some point. And I expect it to put an end to the use of AI to replace human labor to about the same extent the dotcom crash put an end to the Internet. We'd be wise to focus on how to make sure AI's benefits flow to all, not just a few.

haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”
So, we asked Pritzker to weigh in on the go-to debate for every "Star Wars" nerd: Which movies are the best? Here's his ranking of the 11 major films in the series:
1. "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980)
2. "Star Wars" (1977)
3. "Return of the Jedi" (1983)
4. "Rogue One" (2016)
5. "The Last Jedi" (2017)
6. "Revenge of the Sith" (2005)
7. "The Force Awakens" (2015)
8. "Solo" (2018)
9. "The Phantom Menace" (1999)
10. "Attack of the Clones" (2002)
11. "The Rise of Skywalker" (2019)
