If you see an increase in cancer diagnosis you don’t impose a wait limit on time it takes people to get assessed. You employ more cancer specialists. People are going after a disability because it’s an easy target. This is state sanctioned suffering, abuse and neglect.

“Gay ideology” usually refers to gay people being visible, expressing our identities, forming communities, fighting for our rights, etc. Now “gender ideology” evokes similar in relation to trans folk. And when LGBT people become an “ideology,” our humanity degrades and we become targets for erasure.

A third of nurses and a third of doctors were born overseas. Without immigrants the NHS would collapse. You are more likely to be treated by an immigrant than to be behind one in a queue. Massive underfunding of our NHS and lack of social housing were a political choice.

The UK Labour Government could immediately legislate to end the legal proposition that trans people must be excluded from public bathrooms that align with their gender. There is nothing remotely “respectful” by the government refusing to do this. It’s just political gaslighting to say they care.

This is a issue with how poorly paid teens are, rather than an issue with sickness benefits. 🤷 If the minimum wage is below the living wage (Which it is for both teens & adults), it is a poverty wage leading to a spiral of debt. 🤷

Growing up as a shy gay kid, online spaces gave me a vocabulary to understand my homosexuality and find community. The internet was a lifeline. And given how politicians debate our lives as “ideologies,” and viciously censor us, bans on young people using social media will hurt lots of LGBTQ+ youth.
