One of the simplest things the UK government can do to prop up democracy is to enable MPs who blatantly lie to be removed or even prosecuted. Sure, give them a chance to recant and apologise but if they don’t/won’t then that’s the consequence. This doesn’t just apply in the House but anywhere they

Not content with trying to break the EU & ECHR, Farage also cofounded a group aimed at breaking the WHO. And would you look at that, it has links to the nicotine industry and doesn’t want regulations on vapes! As always with Farage, follow the money. He’s nothing but a political prostitute.

This is a huge problem: humans are not wired to cope with this daily torrent of disgust & dismay. It's exhausting & unbalancing. It's tempting just to switch off the news. But that surrenders the political arena - & the lives of all those it affects - to the hooligans & vandals who are trashing it.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.
A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
