You can easily oppose the barbaric war crimes of the current Israeli government without backing this racist motion, which also takes away agency and the right of self-determination from everyone in the region, regardless of faith and background.

The "zionism is racism" motion that has just passed on the Green Party's conference floor is truly gross, and deeply racist. The party's MPs deserve some credit for opposing it, though they should've done so more stridently and sooner. This is now a millstone around the party's necks. Deservedly.

Especially ridiculous because of how it’s not based on household income. Both parents could earn £99,999 and qualify for free childcare, but as soon as one earns £100,000 it’s game over. You can have one on £100k and the other on £0, with no childcare, or both on £99,999 and you get childcare.

The website’s a little barebones for now. I’ve got some ideas on how I can jazz it up… Also, if you’re thinking “Hey, wasn’t that where you wrote about skeptical activism when you were 15? What happened to those posts?” - the important stuff’s hosted at archive.rhysmorgan.co with redirects.

hello. I’ve finally relaunched my website! Looking forward to writing more about Swift, iOS development, tech in general. Maybe it’s a bit bonkers to start writing about tech, and about programming in 2026 – but I want to! I think there’s still a lot of fun things to write about. rhysmorgan.co

I dumped 1Password years back when they moved from Mac-assed consumer software to focusing on enterprise - clearly made sense for them, but Apple’s Passwords was more than good enough. Now, with them funding the fascist Linux distro, I’m glad I’ve not been giving them money for years.

I do wish any of these pieces that criticise tax rises in favour of "welfare reform," would engage in the 16 year long experiment in welfare reform that has culminated in marginal savings and an increase (until recently) in child poverty. Truly, a mugs game. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

I cannot ever understand this *insane* loophole in our legal system that if you use a car to commit crime, you get a slap on the wrist and told “Don’t be such a naughty boy again”. Why should this fuck ever be allowed to get behind the wheel EVER again? It’s batshit.

Slight tangent, but Dr. Strange 2 also ignores/messes up the ending of WandaVision. I wouldn’t have minded if we had either story, but both made zero sense. Dr. Strange 2 makes less sense for having seen WandaVision.

This disingenuous commentary doesn’t help anyone. Frauds start unravelling pretty quickly. That you apparently cannot afford to put your oven or treat yourself is quickly undermined by the question “so why are you spending £50 per week on petrol?” Then, it turns out, she has an agent and /1

I am so sick of this. Reach locally run 20 scare stories a day on benefit cuts on Black Country Live, cos they know fearful people will click This is based on Blunkett musing on possible benefit changes for Neets Not local news, not in fact news just speculation, headlined to scare. For shame.

I hate what Reach have done to local media, yep. It’s despicable, and short sighted. Surprisingly enough, turning your websites into something totally unusable ad-fests, hosting exactly the kind of speculative clickbait crap you highlighted, and re-posting news across the network is toxic.

I’m liking this “one nice policy a day” thing we’ve got going on right now! A marked change from literally just a week ago. If these sorts of things had been woven into Starmer’s time as PM earlier, even if they cost, he might still be PM lol

One reason why back in 2020 I thought Starmer should bring in a PLP social media code of conduct is to minimise the amount of, frankly, pointless hassle, that microblogging causes parties.

(1) this is quite obviously correct. People notice visible homelessness! (2) also - and I want to make this very very blunt and direct here - this is a Labour PM and if you think action to end homelessness won’t play well, well, tough? Maybe you need to go vote Tory instead?

They could learn a lot from the failure of Russell T. Davies who came in with 2 years promised, and set out on a multi-year story arc with the assumption that he’d be so brilliant and get such stellar ratings he’d obviously get a renewal.

It should have been a point of principle not to give her a job. Aside from the economic stupidity and immorality of the crusade she led at the Home Office, she symbolises the political failure that landed Labour in its current predicament, without which Burnham would not have had his opportunity.

I just feel like constantly, endlessly moving ministers around – especially the handful who are clearly on top of their brief and delivering – is one of the reasons that our country suffers. Nobody gets the chance to learn their trade.

Mel Stride can fuck off. I’m no Rachel Reeves fan, but blaming her for “wholesale mismanagement of our economy” and “leaving us with more challenges than opportunities going forward” is brazen coming from a fucking Tory, whose party are why we’re in this state in the first place.
