I'm still giddy about this review by Grace Tierney. I know the book could be a lot of different things and could have a different archive, yet Tierney picks up precisely on what moved me to bring each particular text into *Coalition Literature,* and finds ways to push the book even further.

Essential reading. Many things to say, one of which is that @theatlantic.com and @chronicle.com might consider doing some very basic fact-checking in future before gleefully and self-servingly packaging unsubstantiated, bad, and in fact harmful takes by TAH as searing truth-telling.

In "Transplanetary Americas," Robb Hernández explores how the modern space race has driven Latinx artists to look up and attune to expressions derived from the solar system and beyond. Read the intro for free now: buff.ly/h90oYId
Cover of Transplanetary Americas: Art, Outer Space, and the Latinx Imagination by Robb Hernández. It features an image of Leo Villareal’s Star Ceiling, installed in a plaza with tall columns and benches. 2 people stroll below. The text is in a retro sci-fi font in bright lime-green and yellow.

When harassment/stalking victims are asked what they fear most, it is not being hurt. It's that the harassment will never end. I've been thinking about this a lot in the past few weeks: Jason Arday was harassed to death.

Worth reiterating every time that this is not some cancel-culture purity test: JK Rowling has pledged more than a billion dollars of her Harry Potter money towards bankrolling anti-trans lawsuits. This finances that.

Boston University, where I teach, has been taking down Pride Flags from faculty and office windows because of a new “content neutral” ban on public-facing flags and banners. This is a bad policy that infringes on free speech. Faculty are protesting. Today the President defended these actions. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Bluesky is mostly a blow-by-blow account of right wing settlers dismantling the liberal settler civilizational infrastructure, and liberal settlers glimpsing (mostly without realizing it) the beginnings of a destruction endured by first nations to make this culturally evangelical & rapacious state.

I really don’t think enough is being made of the fact that it’s a three supposedly do-nothing toothless scholarly organizations—the AHA, the MLA, and the ACLS— who are directly responsible for one of the clearest and most damning exposures of this administration’s stupidity and malfeasance.

OPINION: For my tribes, the Dakota and Diné people, seeing federal agents disappear people from their communities isn’t a new crisis. It is a recurring nightmare, Jacqueline Keeler writes.

“Gulf of America,” just like “Department of War,” was not a simple name change. It was a test to see public reaction. Imperialism doesn’t need to hide in plain sight. This has always been America. Hence we urgently need a shift from solidarity to sovereignty, as I have long said. #Venezuela
