Same challenge here in my somewhat older neighborhood in Ottawa especially in winter. The main concern of sidewalk builders appears to make it super easy for car drivers to get in and out of their driveways rather than any concern for pedestrians. Often walk on the streets for better stability.

When you go to a Blue Jays game every guy around you that’s on his phone is sports betting. The gambling industry in Canada went from $2.75 billion/month in 2019 to $4.25 billion/month in 2025. It’s a massive waste societally and it ruins lives & families.

Two-thirds of global energy is wasted, mostly as combustion heat. Electrification gets rid of most of that waste rather than replacing it. From my keynote at the Eurelectric PowerSummit.
