“Because we have such a restricted number of both beds and physicians, that when somebody pays for this, it’s not an extra spot that wouldn’t have been used. It is taking it away from somebody who would have needed that spot.” Exactly. Two tier healthcare is going to increase prices and reduce care

Seems the money that Postmedia used to pay to print the Sault Star, Sudbury Star and North Bay Nugget will instead be spent on lawyers to defend sociopathic columnists.

The best thing airlines have done is to take something kinda important but easy to screw up, say like putting on a bag tag, and turning that into something for the rest of us to do.

The funniest thing about the BC Conservative Party collapse is that the NDP didn't have to do a thing. The Conservatives took in the Liberals and United MLAs, the crazies took over, the moderates took off/were kicked out, and now Findlay quits.

I had the good fortune of working with Dick Proctor early in my career. While I’m saddened by his passing, remembrances like Tom Hawthorn’s are heartening. Dick is remembered for what he was: a humble, deeply ethical, hard-working journalist, organizer and politician.
