We should be very concerned about public health moving from a ideology of "protecting" to one of "moving fast." These are neoliberal buzzwords that normalize wellness profiteering ("removing red tape") and distract from the harms of cutting public health protections/regulations.

It's cold outside and snowy, too! Is climate change a hoax? Not at all. Winter still brings cold weather even as the planet warms. In fact, warmer oceans + a rapidly warming Arctic can even increase the intensity of winter storms and heavy snowfall. That's why I call it Global Weirding!

According to AP, the typical pay package for S&P 500 CEOs rose to $17M last year — an increase of 9.7%. At half of the companies surveyed, it would take the median worker 192 years to make what the CEO did in one year.  This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

To build a sustainable, just, less US-dependent economy, Canada needs a new industrial strategy. In the Toronto Star, we argue that this should include using public procurement not only to “buy Canadian” but also to transform challenges like food security & climate crisis into market opportunities.
