The eggs are also extremely easy to peel, if that sweetens the pot. Impress dates pulling out a hard boiled egg from a pocket, distending your jaw like a snake, and then consuming it while making direct eye contact. Then reach into your pocket to offer them an egg.

A common mistake many new writers make is crafting a character and then, without story justification or world building to support it, making them heterosexual. This leaves readers confused & takes them out of the story.
